About Me

My name is Larissa Maddy.

I am a trauma-informed space holder, somatic guide, Yoga teacher, Reiki practitioner and artist.

I am a deeply sensitive, creative, and embodied human being.
And before I was ever a guide, practitioner, or artist, I was learning how to survive, and later, how to feel safe again in my own body.

My life has been shaped by experiences that changed me profoundly. Experiences that were confusing, painful, and at times impossible to put into words.

Through my own journey of healing from sexual trauma, I have learned to translate pain into purpose.

Like many others, I learned early on how to function, how to appear “fine,” and how to keep going, even when my body was holding something very different beneath the surface.

For a long time, I searched for spaces that felt truly safe.
Not spaces that wanted to fix me.
Not spaces that needed my story.
But spaces that respected my pace, my boundaries, and my nervous system.

I found very few.

What I did find, slowly, over time, was the body. As something that remembers, protects, and communicates in its own language.

Through somatic work, movement, stillness, art, and creative expression, I began to understand how healing can happen without force. How dignity, choice, and gentleness are not luxuries, but necessities, especially after trauma.

Art became another language for me.
A way to express what could not yet be spoken.
A way to witness pain without analysing it, and to transform experience without erasing it.

Today, all of these threads live in my work.

I am not interested in quick solutions or spiritual bypassing.
I am interested in honesty, embodiment, and spaces where people can arrive as they are, without pressure, expectation, or urgency.

My lived experience informs my work, but it does not define or replace professional boundaries.
I work with care, responsibility, and deep respect for the complexity of trauma and healing.

What I offer comes from a place of humility, presence, and listening. Not because I have all the answers , but because I know how important it is to be met with care and empathy.

My Approach

Through my own life, I came to understand how deeply trauma lives in the body,  often beyond words, diagnosis, or logic. I also learned how rare it is to find spaces that feel truly safe, unrushed, and respectful.

Today, my work centres on:

  • trauma-informed embodiment
  • nervous system regulation
  • body-based awareness
  • gentle reconnection with self

I work non-retraumatising and non-confrontational.
There is no pressure to tell your story, relive experiences, or “heal” in a specific way.

Ethics & Boundaries

I work with transparency, consent, and clear ethical boundaries.

  • I do not diagnose or treat mental illness
  • I do not replace psychotherapy or medical care
  • I refer out when additional support is needed
  • I work collaboratively with other professionals where appropriate

My role is to support stability, orientation, and embodied safety, not to process trauma content.

My Why

I believe healing happens when people feel safe enough to listen to themselves again.
When the body is not pushed, analysed, or overridden, but respected.

My intention is to offer spaces that are humane, grounded, and deeply respectful of each person’s pace and autonomy.
